A strong fresh source reveals that Verstappen, who was rumored to join Red Bull for 2017, will drive for Red Bull Racing from the Spanish Grand Prix on. The Dutchman will be at the factory this week to do a seat fitting as well.

Dutch newspaper Ad.nl is claiming that, Max will join with senior team in Barcelona in-season test and a complete switch to Red Bull at Monaco.

Kvy, you done fucked up! Could just be rumors but who knows!

Edit*

Reports emerged online on Wednesday which suggested that RBR have decided to swap Verstappen and Kvyat with immediate effect, possibly for just a single event “to allow Kvyat to regain his confidence” at Toro Rosso.

Wow, that's quite the shakeup, I didn't expect action that quickly. Would Daniil be demoted to STR or shitcanned altogether?

It could be a rumor, but there are two different rumors. I hate to be on the rumor train but there is usually some truth in the big ones in F1. He may just be getting seat time in the test, which would explain the seat fitting. Or the Russian GP was a fuck up after not impressing Helmut Marko. If Helmut doesn’t like you, you are fucked. If Helmut and RBR was embarrassed, not good. We’ll see, I know they have a hard on for Stapp and I have no doubt he might be there next year.

That sucks for Kvyat, I have to say I agree with Will Buxton’s take on the whole thing.

Basically, Kvyat got way more blame than he should have.

It’s awesome for Verstappen though, he is probably the most aggressive driver in F1 right now.

It may not be true, but it was a big thing with Vettel. Maybe Marko or even Dietrich said something. RBR expects great things, especially when they are not quite up on power. Danny earns his keep with what they have. We’ll see, it’s F1, could just be that Stapp is getting some test time in the RBR.

Rumor has it that Verstappen and Kvyat would switch seats. Red Bull has a ton of money invested in Kvyat and wouldn’t want to completely screw his career.

Although it would be fun to see Max and Daniel together for a race weekend, it might be better to just let Max mature for the rest of the year at Toro Rosso. Kvyat likely won’t have a 2017 seat anyway.

It’s official, Kvyat is out, Christian Horner and Helmut Marko confirmed it.

Sounds like Kvyat pissed of Marko.

As Max Verstappen starts his Red Bull Racing journey ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix, Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko revealed that Daniil Kvyat was dropped due to the mounting pressure he was under.

Despite getting the only podium for the team so far this season, Marko criticized the performances of the Russian in 2016 and said that the move down to Toro Rosso will benefit him.

“It was primarily a measure to take away the pressure on Daniil, which was available this year,” the Austrian told Motorsport-Total.com .

“He has not nearly the same performance as last year. He was an average of three to five tenths slower than [Daniel] Ricciardo. Last year he was at eye level.

“But what was much more difficult: He was very inconsistent, had many ups and downs. Sometimes it was good, as was seen in China, but he has put so much pressure on himself that these fluctuations come automatically.

“The crash in Sochi is a consequence of the internal pressure, which he has built himself, it did not come from us.

“Our luxury is that we have the ability to set him up at Toro Rosso again. Romain Grosjean was once in a similar situation and had crash after crash. We wanted to avoid that.”

On another positive note, Marko added that the move will also ease tensions between Kvyat’s new teammate Carlos Sainz and Verstappen, as the two have clashed in the past.

“On the other hand there was considerable unrest at Toro Rosso between Verstappen and Sainz,” he continued.

“Thus we have internally resolved several problems and we have not removed Kvyat, but he is still with us in the squad. Toro Rosso is a good midfield team which has the potential, both on the car and driver side, which it must finally implement to be constantly in the points.”

I quoted the whole article, but here is the link if anyone wants to see it.

For Stappen, teams want him.
